The Lattice Geometry of Walsh-Function-Based Adaptive Optics

چکیده

We show that there is an intrinsic link between the use of Walsh aberration modes in adaptive optics (AO) and mathematics lattices. The discrete binary nature these means are infinite combinations mode coefficients can optimally correct same aberration. Finding such a correction hence poorly conditioned optimisation problem be difficult to solve. This mitigated by confining AO space defined fundamental Voronoi cell lattice. By restricting this way, one ensure only set corresponds optimum property used enable design efficient estimation algorithms solve inverse finding aberrations from sequence measurements wavefront sensorless system. benefit approach illustrated using neural-network-based estimator.

Frequency-based Design of Adaptive Optics Systems

The problem of reducing the effects of wavefront distortion and structural vibrations in ground-based telescopes is addressed within a modal-control framework. The proposed approach aims at optimizing the parameters of a given modal stabilizing controller with respect to a performance criterion which reflects the residual phase variance and is defined on a sampled frequency domain. This framewo...

The Anisoplanatic Point-Spread Function in Adaptive Optics

The effects of anisoplanatism on the adaptive optics point-spread function are investigated. A model is derived that combines observations of the guide star with an analytic formulation of anisoplanatism in order to generate predictions for the adaptive optics point-spread function at arbitrary locations within the field of view. The analytic formulation captures the dependencies of anisoplanat...

Adaptive Optics ——————————————— Effectiveness of High-Order Adaptive Optics in Ground-Based Stellar Interferometry

The ground-based optical interferometer with large apertures is a potential research tool for the study of stellar astrophysics and the synthesis of high-resolution stellar images. However, atmospheric turbulence can impose a significant limitation on the interferometer's performance. In order to reduce those degrading effects, we investigate the effectiveness of high-order adaptive optics in g...
